A head office based buyer is required in Qatar to take on a subcontract procurement role for a leading International Building and Civil Engineering Contractor with offices across the Middle East.
UAE Construction Project Details:
Initially office based the Senior buyer will handle tenders and bids supporting the estimating team to produce winning bids for major construction projects in Qatar. Projects include major University projects, hospitals and premium hotels.
Senior Buyer procurement Duties:
To manage the sub contract procurement function on a number of large scale bids on major Qatar projects.
Upon award to take project to site and manage the subcontract procurement role from design management to final subcontract negotiations.
To ensure projects operate within allocated budgets.
Ensure procurement function including sub-contract procurement is undertaken within the demanding timescales required of the project.
Draft subcontract amendments and work on the preparation of main contract tenders.
Senior Buyer/Procurement Experience required:
Hands on experience of procuring subcontract packages for Major Building or Civil Engineering Construction Projects
Relevant Quantity Surveying or other construction degree highly desirable
Overseas experience not essential if experience has been gained of major subcontract procurement works
