Maxim Recruitment Wins NORA Award

Maxim Recruitment has won a major national award for its website www.maximrecruitment.co.uk. The agency has won the prestigious 2004 National Online Recruitment Award (NORA) in the category "Best Small Recruitment Agency Website". The independent panel of judges selected five finalists across a number of categories in September, and after much deliberation, the winners were announced today.
Steve Thomas, a Director at Maxim Recruitment commented;
"We are delighted that we have won this important award. We see this as recognition of our ongoing efforts to use the internet effectively in connecting construction and quantity surveying job seekers with recruiting employers. We are using the internet, but without replacing the contribution that informed and knowledgeable recruitment consultants can make."
Although their clients include many leading national 'blue chip' building and civil engineering contractors and quantity surveying practices, their aim is to provide a personal service to the individuals they work with..
"The intention behind the website design was to quickly show people what they were looking for, and give them the option to get in touch with an experienced recruitment consultant at every stage in their visit to the site", Steve added.
Steve Thomas and fellow director Mark Guthrie have over 12 years' recruitment experience in the quantity surveying, building construction and civil engineering construction recruitment sectors.
"By being approachable to potential job seekers in both online and offline environments, we can best help our clients get the staff they need. We must be on the right track as we are looking for extra staff ourselves." says Steve.
The website was designed & developed in partnership with Southampton based new media agency Alchemy Digital, whose creative director Adrian Tennant commented,
"Focusing on functionality that visitors to the new website really appreciate, rather than copying features found on other sites offers real differentiation. Throughout the design phase Alchemy Digital worked closely with Maxim's directors to develop an appropriate strategy to anticipate and meet visitors' needs. As a result the site offers more efficient ways of finding both information and job information than many of its larger competitors"
